The Age of Luxury and the Evolution of Aquarius Motorhomes
Prior to becoming Aquarius Motorhomes, the company operated as Coachmen Motorhomes, establishing a sound reputation in the Australian market for providing good quality, value for money A Class Motorhomes. It has an enviable reputation within the industry for after sales service. Coachmen Motorhomes, Australia, imported Motorhomes from Coachmen RV. While Coachmen manufactured ‘popular quality’ Motorhomes for the US market, Coachmen Motorhomes Australia invested considerable effort to significantly improve the quality once the vehicle arrived in Australia, by refitting the interior with quality materials and furniture to meet the higher expectations of potential owners in Australia.
The Australian Motorhome owner is far more discerning than the average owner in the US with respect to self sufficiency and the use of solar power, hence the Australian vehicles were fitted with stand alone power systems supplement by solar panels and all vehicles were converted to run on low carbon footprint ‘LPG’.
In 2009 Coachmen RV in USA split their business, selling the American Production Line Motorhome side of the business to Forest River retaining the special vehicles section. Coachmen Motorhomes Australia decided to work in collaboration with the special vehicle section – All American Specialty Vehicles LLC, to develop a custom designed, individual bay built, world first Motorhome – the Aquarius Model, offering the Australian purchaser a premium quality product . (This has similarities to the Toyota/Lexus Split)
The Aquarius design distances itself from the existing American Style of Motorhomes. The Aquarius boasts new manufacturing technologies, all Australian wired and applianced, it is very ‘green’ sensitive, using curved bamboo cabinetry designed by the world famous Hector Coronado, a large open plan kitchen using Corian bench tops, neutral toning with leather dining chairs/lounge, European styling, an overall luxurious Motorhome.
To position this superior product, a new company has been structured. It was decided to rebrand, rename, and move forward as Aquarius Motorhomes – the age of luxury.
